Dusty Fisher Owner, Funeral Director, Embalmer, Crematory Operator, Boerne Cemetery Sexton

Dusty grew up moving around Texas and then settling in Brownwood due to his dad coaching high school and college football. Dusty received a B.S. in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University. After cowboying on the Waggoner Ranch which at the time was the largest ranch under one fence in the United States, he attended and graduated from the Texas Christian University Ranch Management Program. After ten years in the cattle industry managing ranches and after witnessing a tragic ranch accident, the funeral business presented itself through friends that own a funeral home. Dusty graduated with honors from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services and worked for these friends for several years. Once he attained his license, his dream became owning his own funeral home in the Hill Country. His wife, Jo Lynn, credits God with leading them to Boerne and to the Ebensbergers. Dusty is very proud to continue to run Ebensberger Funeral Home the way a family should. Dusty is a former Rotarian and is currently a member of The Centurions of Kendall County. When Dusty is not at the funeral home, he is either hanging out with family and friends or on the golf course. The Fishers have two boys that grew up in the Boerne school district. One will attend Texas Tech University and one is a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

Jo Lynn Fisher Owner, General Manager

Jo Lynn grew up in Lancaster, Texas, as an only child born to older parents. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Abilene Christian University with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. She taught elementary and junior high students for 12 years before moving to Boerne. During those years, she presented numerous workshops and seminars for her schools, districts, region, and state. After the first year of marriage to Dusty, they moved to Corsicana, Texas, for him to manage a large ranch and to be near her parents whom she was extemely close with. Unfortunately, Jo Lynn lost her dad several years ago and her mother more recently. Jo Lynn is the General Manager of the funeral home and also serves as a Funeral Director's Assistant. It's important to her that each family the funeral home serves feels that we are walking alongside them during one of the most tragic times of their lives. When Jo Lynn left teaching to join Dusty at the funeral home, she told him that the funeral home couldn't just be a business but must also be a ministry. She co-led and sponsored local grief support groups at the funeral home for several years. She served on the United Way of Kendall County Board of Directors. She is a graduate of the Greater Boerne Area Chamber of Commerce 2010 Leadership Class. She has served on the Chamber's Leadership Council and Scholarship Committee and has also Chaired the annual Gala Awards. She was also on the Chamber's Board of Directors for six years before serving as Chair of the Chamber in 2021 and still continues to serve as a Director.  Jo Lynn oversaw construction of the new funeral home location that opened in July of 2022. Her favorite role though is being Mom to their two grown sons.
